Esthetics
While a portion of the Cosmetology program covers esthetics, the Career Center has added a separate Esthetics program for students interested in this specific type of training. Students will learn how to do facial treatments, makeup applications, hair removal services, as well as how to build and market an esthetician business. Students who complete 750 hours of training and pass the State Practical and Theory exam can become a licensed esthetician in just one year!
Estheticians are licensed in skin care treatment and services. As part of this program, students will gain knowledge in soft skills to help build a business and career, foundational skills that help keep estheticians and clients safe such as infection control, laws & rules in the industry, and how to maintain a professional image.
The curriculum will also cover chapters on anatomy, skin disorders & diseases, massage techniques, skin devices & treatments, proper make up applications, hair removal procedures, and even chemistry & electricity. Students will also prepare for State Board testing by practicing and studying for the State licensure exams together.
Not sure if you are a good fit for this program? Each program has a list of recommendations to follow when placing students in classes called "SUCCESS INDICATORS". Students do best when their characteristics align with these recommendations.
