Mr. McNeil has more than 30 years of experience in Law Enforcement with the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff and Spring Arbor Township, including 17 years experience with the special response team (SWAT). He holds several instructor level certifications and is a current licensed and sworn police officer. Mr. McNeil has a degree in Law Enforcement studies and Public Service Administration from Siena Heights University and a Law Enforcement degree from Grand Rapids Junior College. He also has several other training certificates from Michigan State University, Eastern Michigan University, and Ferris State University.

Mr. Brett Halsey

Mr. Halsey is the IA for the Firefighting and Law Enforcement programs. His experience includes more than 27 years with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office as a Sergeant and Chief Training Officer in the Corrections Division. Mr. Halsey also worked as a Campus Safety Officer for Baker College for three years. Mr. Halsey graduated from East Jackson High School, and attended Kellogg Community College and Jackson Community College studying Criminal Justice. He is also a certified MHSAA Baseball Official and has spent nearly a decade coaching high school baseball and football.
